Separators are a pressure vessel that does the duty of separating the gas and liquid of a well stream. A separator is used for different purposes which makes its classification on the basis of purpose viz-a-viz, test separator, high-pressure separator, low-pressure separator, primary phase separator etc. and the design of the construction can give it another spectrum of classification in terms of horizontal, vertical or spherical. The separator does the function of separating the gas, oil, and water through the different stages inside the separator from the first primary stage to the second stage to the third stage with all stages doing the purpose it is designed for to get to the end result in the separation.
